A method for diagnosing the persistent herpes virus neuroinfection provides for the serological assays of blood serum and spinal fluid. The concentration of the specific IgG of 4 different herpes viruses is assayed in blood serum and spinal fluid, the corresponding ratio is calculated. When the ratio decreased two-fold, the persistent herpes virus neuroinfection is diagnosed.
