FLEXIBLE STRIPES FORMING PROTECTING CUSHIONS SUSCEPTIBLE TO REDUCE NOISE AND DAMAGE GENERATED BY THE SLAPPING OF THE METAL AXLE AGAINST THE SAILING VESSEL'S MAST

Novelty: Stripes (5) made of closed cell foam are wound around the rotating axle (3) to form cushions (4) around it (fig. 2, 3, 4), which cushions are subsequently mutually fastened in adequate distances and raised on the mast via the loops (8) and the reefing system in order to impede the axle (3) from adjoining the mast (1). Velcro straps are provided to retain the thus-formed cushions around the axle (3). Purpose: To reduce noise and damage due to the slapping of the metal axle against the mast of the vessel under the effect of movement. Embodiment: Application in sailing vessels having their reefing system inside the mast.
