The shell (1) has a block (5) formed from material of an upper edge of a covering panel (4). A connection zone between the block and the panel is thinned so as to form a flexible hinge (6) to allow the block to be folded towards front with respect to the panel after the panel is assembled on an armature (2) in order to form headrest volume towards the front with respect to the panel. The block is in a form of the shell inside which a reinforcing rib (8) is extended, and includes a fitting unit (11) arranged to cooperate with a reciprocal unit (12) when the block is folded in rear direction. The shell is made of molded plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a seat of a motor vehicle, comprising an enclosure shell.
