<p>Composition intended to be diluted in a solvent to form a cleaning solution of pipes/tubes, comprises: (a) 15-99 (preferably 75-95) wt.% of methanesulfonic acid (MSA); (b) 0.075-3 wt.% of an anti-corrosive agent corresponding to 4-[(2-ethylhexyl)amino]-4-oxoisocrotonic acid; (c) 0.1-5 wt.% of a chelating agent; and/or (d) 0.1-10 wt.% of a nonionic, anionic surfactant. Independent claims are included for: (1) a cleaning solution comprising 5-20 wt.% of the composition and a solvent; (2) a preparation of the composition comprising: dissolving the chelating agent, surfactant and optionally the cationic wetting agent, to obtain a first solution; introducing the methanesulfonic acid to the first solution, while stirring; introducing, also by stirring, anti-corrosion agent and 4-[(2-ethylhexyl)amino]-4-oxoisocrotonic acid, to obtain the composition; and (3) a process for cleaning a pipe intended to transport products obtained from oil refining, comprising (1) introducing a cleaning solution in the pipe, (2) leaving the composition for acting within the pipe for 1-2 days, (3) passing a scraper within the pipe, optionally starting that step for second time, and (4) eliminating any traces still present in the cleaning solution of the pipe.</p> |
