The invention relates to a system by which high-quality synthesis gas can be obtained from arbitrary carbon-containing starting materials, such as household refuse or biogenic material. The system comprises a process chamber (1) which is equipped with at least one feeding device (6, 7) and which comprises four functional zones for drying (2), pyrolyzing (3), gasifying (4), and burning (5) the starting materials. A worm conveyor (10), which is composed of a worm shaft (11) and a loading tube (12) surrounding the same, is arranged concentrically in the process chamber (1), starting the upper end thereof. The worm conveyor (10) does not extend completely to the lower end of the process chamber (1), whereby a section (13) is formed through which the worm conveyor (10) does not penetrate and which is used for gasifying and burning the starting materials. The system enables the precise control of the volume flow during all process steps and the virtually complete elimination of carbon build-up and/or slagging, whereby high yields and long service lives can be achieved. |
