A fuel storage system includes (10): a fuel storage tank (12); a fill inlet (14) connected to the fuel storage tank; and a fuel tank cap (18). The fuel tank cap includes: a vapor storage receptacle (24); a purge path (34) in fluid communication with the vapor storage receptacle; and a liquid discriminating membrane (36) configured to be disposed at least in part between the vapor storage receptacle and fuel in the fuel tank.
