PURPOSE: A method for cutting a polarizing plate is provided to prevent products from being stabbed by minimizing the swelling of a polarizing plate. CONSTITUTION: A method for cutting a polarizing plate is as follows. A laser is irradiated so that adjacent laser beam spots(10) can be overlapped. The overlap rate of the laser beam spots is 0~20%. The swelling of the end of a cut surface of a polarizing plate(2) is less than 15 micrometers. The laser pulse period(20) is 70~90 microseconds at the 0~20% overlap rate. The diameter of the laser beam spots is 150 micrometers.
