Disclosed is a heavy metal treatment agent which has significantly improved lead insolubilization performance in an alkaline medium, uses a diethylenetriamine carbodithioate salt, and can be used in the treatment of alkaline heavy metal contaminants and in the treatment of heavy metal contaminant matter with pH variation. In the heavy metal treatment agent, piperazine-N,N'-bis-carbodithioate is added at 30 wt% or less to a diethylenetriamine-N1,N2,N3-tris-carbodithioate salt.
