<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing pathological inflammation for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: By administering a drug which specifically binds to α-4 integrin or a dimer including α-4 integrin, the pathological inflammation of a patient is reduced for a long period of time. Preferably, a monoclonal antibody or an immunologically active fragment thereof which binds to the dimer of α-4 integrin is used. Specifically, natalizumab is illustrated. The drug is effective for inflammation caused by multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
