PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Francis pump turbine in which a partial load efficiency at hydro turbine operation is improved together with the backflow prevention of power water at pump operation by improving a trailing edge of a runner vane at hydro turbine operation. SOLUTION: In the Francis pump turbine, a curve 24 expanded toward a main shaft side is formed at the trailing edge 23 of the runner vane 20 at hydro turbine operation. The curve 24 has the maximum with respect to a straight line connecting a crown side trailing edge connection end 25, where the trailing edge 23 and a crown 22 are connected, and a band side trailing edge connection end 26, where the trailing edge 23 and a band 21 are connected. When the distance between the maximum and the straight line connecting the crown side trailing edge connection end 25 and the band side trailing edge connection end 26 is assumed to be S and the distance between the main shaft and the band side trailing edge connection end 26 is assumed to be Rb, the distance ratio S/Rb is set within a range of S/Rb≥0.05.
