PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To share one locking member sliding either to a locking position and to an unlocking position, in a locking device of a housing container, of an electric type or a manual type, allocated to each chamber of a building or the like, thereby eliminating the need for preparing an electric locking member and a manual locking member, with simplification in device and reduction in cost. SOLUTION: The locking device of the housing container includes a locking member which projects on a door side at its locked position and is retreated therefrom at the unlocked position, wherein the locking member can be set by selecting between an electric state to be locked/unlocked through the energization/de-energization of an electromagnetic solenoid device or a manual state to be moved either to the locked position or to the unlocked position with a working body operating through insertion of a key to be inserted into the cylinder key provided on the door side. The locking member is detachably attached with a selective stopper which is turned into a state where a locking motion of the working body is transmitted to the locking member while the working body is mounted thereupon or into a state where a locking motion of the working body is not transmitted to the locking member while the working body is removed.
