PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video and sound processor and video and sound processing method, wherein an incorporated source device can be controlled by HDMI-CEC even when control by HDMI-CEC is invalidated. SOLUTION: The video and sound processor includes: a housing provided with a terminal that can connect a first source device for processing video and sound; a second source device arranged in the housing to process video and sound; a controller connected to the terminal and the second source device through a digital interface to transmit and receive a control signal between the first and second source devices through a control line of the digital interface; and a receiving means for receiving a setting signal for setting the validness and invalidness of the control signal between the first and second source devices and the controller. The controller does not execute, when the receiving means receives the setting signal for setting the invalidness of the control signal, a function corresponding to the control signal transmitted from the first source device.
