A wet-type solar battery (10) comprises a support body (1) formed of a light transmissive material and a stacked body in which a conductive layer (2), a photoelectric conversion layer (4) including a porous semiconductor, a porous insulating layer (5), and an opposing conductive layer (6) are stacked in this order. The conductive layer (2) is divided into a first region (2a) including a portion on the surface of which the photoelectric conversion layer (4) is formed and a second region (2b) in which the photoelectric conversion layer (4) is not formed. A protective film (9) having a thickness less than or equal to that of the photoelectric conversion layer (4) and used for preventing internal short circuits is formed in at least part of the surrounding of the photoelectric conversion layer (4) formed on the surface of the first region (2a).
