SURGE SUPPRESSOR WITH THERMAL PROTECTIVE FUNCTION

A surge suppressor with a thermal protective function comprises an outer case (1) and a base (3) having an assembly plate (2). The base is provided with a surge suppressing element and a thermal protective device (4). The thermal protective device comprises a metal bulging part (42) which is connected with the b electrode of the surge suppressing element electrically, a compression spring (43) and a slide block (45) which can move on a guide way (7) of the assembly plate and has an arc suppressing member (44). When the surge suppressor works normally, a conductive metal member (41) and the metal bulging part are electrically connected through a low-temperature solder joint (8). A power-frequency fault current flows through the surge suppressing element because of failure, then the low-temperature solder joint is melted, the conductive metal member breaks the connection with the metal bulging part, and the spring drives the arc suppressing member on the slide block to move to block off the interrupted gap and generate an air flow which blows out the electric arc between the interrupted gap of the conductive metal member and the metal bulging part. And therefore, the surge suppressor with the thermal protective function provides safer, more instant and reliable circuit protection.
