METHOD AND USER EQUIPMENT (UE) FOR SELECTING CELL OF HETEROGENEOUS NETWORK

A method and User Equipment (UE) for selecting a cell of the heterogeneous network are provided, and the method includes that: the UE selects the cell having the maximum signal measurements in the carrier frequencies; the UE synchronizes to the cell and receives broadcast information of the cell; if the cell is a macro cell, the broadcast information carries an extended indicating bit, wherein the extended indicating bit is used to indicate whether there is a low power cell within the macro cell coverage; if the extended indicating bit indicates that there is a low power cell within the macro cell coverage, the low power cells in the macro cell are searched, if one of the low power cells in the macro cell satisfies the S standards, the UE selects the low power cell as a service cell and resides in the low power cell. By the preference of the low power cell, the interference of the low power cell from the UE is reduced when the UE sends an uplink signal.
