In Thermodynamics, the Carnot theorem states that no engine working between two given heat reservoirs can be more efficient than a reversible engine working between these two reservoirs. This engine is called the Carnot cycle and is said in available thermodynamics literature to have the highest possible efficiency i.e. the Carnot efficiency here denoted as Ecarnot. The Energy Optimized Thermodynamic cycle introduced in this paper is claimed to have an efficiency greater than the said Carnot efficiency. This claim is based on the assertion that the limit in efficiency inherent to the Carnot cycle is specifically due to continuous expansion. If the working fluid is made to undergo sequestrated expansion the author has shown using standard formulae that an increase in efficiency will result.
