<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an inkjet recording material, which can manufacture the inkjet recording material showing excellent ink absorption, color development properties and light resistance, with high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the inkjet recording material, a coating liquid for undercoat layer which contains a water-dispersive resin with a minimum film forming temperature of not less than 40°C alkaline metal salt of boric acid and an acid with a pKa value of not more than 4.0, is applied to the surface of a non-water absorbent support. After that, a coating liquid for ink receptive layer is applied which contains an inorganic microparticle with the average secondary particle diameter of not more than 500 nm as the main component.
