<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-jet head which has a piezoelectric element free from lead, having high insulation properties, and thereby suppressing generation of leak current. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid-jet head is equipped with: a pressure generation chamber 12 in communication with a nozzle opening 21; and a piezoelectric element 300 provided with a first electrode 60 formed of titanium oxide 61, 63 and platinum 62, a piezoelectric layer 70 formed on the first electrode 60 and containing iron manganese acid bismuth lanthanum, and a second electrode 80 formed on the piezoelectric layer 70.
