Disclosed is a polymer light emitting element, which has improved luminance when operated at low voltage. Specifically disclosed is a polymer light emitting element, which comprises: a negative electrode; a positive electrode; and a functional layer containing a polymer compound and a light emitting layer containing an organic polymer light emitting compound, said layers being arranged between the negative electrode and the positive electrode. The negative electrode comprises a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer sequentially from the light emitting layer side, and the first electrode layer contains a first material and a second material. The first material contains one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, cesium fluoride, rubidium fluoride and carboxides of alkali metals, and the second material is a substance that exerts a reducing action on the first material. |
