<p>PURPOSE: A backlight unit and display apparatus having the same are provided to apply a driving current to a light emitting unit in a predetermined period and apply other driving current to the light emitting unit in other period. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit of a display apparatus comprises an image processing unit(120) which processes an input image, a display panel(140) which displays the processed image, and a BLU(Back Light Unit)(130) which supplies backlight to the display panel. The BLU comprises a backlight driving unit which applies driving current in a duty control method and a control unit. The control unit applies a first driving current value having a first current value to the light emitting part and applies a second driving current value having a second current value to the light emitting part.</p> |
