PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust puncture depth sanitarily and stably for a long period of time without requiring complicated maintenance. SOLUTION: The puncture device 1 includes a puncture depth adjusting mechanism for adjusting the puncture depth of a puncture element 21 to the skin. The puncture depth adjusting mechanism includes a cover 7 which can be attached to/detached from a housing 3, and a displacing body 6 movable in a puncture direction or in a retraction direction, opposite from the puncture direction, relative to the housing 3, and movable in the puncture direction or in the retraction direction independently from the cover 7. The displacing body 6 has a stepped part 37 for limiting the movement of the puncture element in the puncture direction when the puncture element 21 moves in the puncture direction, so that the puncture element can be held with the cover 7 detached from the housing 3.
