PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable fixing method and a cable connecting section, which can be used at an environment of the outside of a vehicular cabin in spite of a simple structure and have waterproofness, cable retention force to tensile strength, and mechanical strength. SOLUTION: In the cable fixing method for a connector 10, the connector has a metallic case 11 made from a terminal holder storage section 11a and a metal cylinder section 11b, a cable 21 is inserted into the metallic case 11, a terminal 13 where a core wire of the cable 21 is crimped is fixed on an insulated terminal holder 12, the terminal holder 12 is stored by fixing it on the terminal holder storage section 11a, and the cable 21 is fixed on the metallic case 11 by crimping the metallic cylinder section 11b. When crimping the metal cylinder section 11b, when a cross-sectional area of the cable 21 before crimping the metal cylinder section 11b is A and a cross-sectional area of the cable 21 after crimping the metal cylinder section 11b is B and B/A is set up to be a crimping rate K, the relation of 0.60≤K≤0.95 is established.
