The invention relates to a device that pertains to the field of hydroelectric engineering, and more precisely to the production of electricity by the conversion of the energy of water vertical heaving into electric energy. The device comprises a floating body with a vertical rod and a float with a vertical shaft. A stopper is provided at the upper end of the vertical rod so as to prevent any movement of the float beyond the upper limit of the rod. A wheel and a power generator are secured to the stopper. The body is capable of maintaining a constant position relative to the vertical upon any water heaving. The float is provided on the rod so as to be capable of a reciprocating movement along the rod. The wheel is cinematically connected to the shaft and to a mobile member of the power generator. When the float moves along the rod, the wheel carries out rotary movements due to the rolling action along the shaft, and transmits the rotary torque to the mobile member of the power generator.
