The device has a lubricant sensor (3), which is arranged in direct proximity of a rolling contact of the bearing (2) for the analysis of the lubricant. The condition of the lubricant is analyzed by a transmitter and a receiver of an electromagnetic radiation on the basis of a spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation received from the sample area. The sample area is arranged between the transmitter and the receiver and is sectionally arranged inside the bearing.
