PURPOSE: A machine room sound reduction device of refrigerator for kimchi is provided to reduce the radiation of sound to outside from a machine room. CONSTITUTION: A machine room sound reduction device of refrigerator for kimchi comprises a machine room, a rear cover, a driving part, and a controller. A machine room(12) includes a cooling member supplying the cool air of low temperature. A rear cover(14) separates the machine room from an outside space. The driving part is comprised of a rack, which is formed on a rail, and a pinion, which is fixed on a rotary shaft of a step motor. The controller drives a compressor temperature sensor, which senses the temperature of the compressor, and a shutter which can be operated according to the temperature of the compressor.
