<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber and an absorbent article having practically sufficient absorbing capability and peel strength, and capable of being easily washed with water. <P>SOLUTION: The absorber 30 includes water-absorbing polymer 11 whose centrifugal holding quantity based on JIS K 7223 is not more than 20 g/g, and fiber sheets 31 and 32. The water-absorbing polymer 11 and the fiber sheets 31 and 32 are bonded to each other via an anion and/or nonion binder.
