PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower leader attachment/detachment tool and lower leader attachment/detachment method, capable of easily and safely attaching and detaching a lower leader to and from the lower end of a leader of a pile driver of a type of tilting the leader forward. SOLUTION: The lower leader attachment/detachment tool 21 includes a lower leader installation portion 23 to be installed on a tool installation portion 19 of the lower leader 18, which is provided on one longitudinal end of a tool body 22; a weight installation portion 24 for detachably installing a balance weight 28, which is provided on the other longitudinal end thereof; and a plurality of suspending portions (a lower leader-side suspending portion 25, a weight-side suspending portion 26, and a central suspending portion 27) for suspending the tool in a state where the balance weight is installed on the weight installation portion with or without installation of the lower leader on the lower leader installation portion.
