The roller bearing cage has a body, which consists of a band made of flexible material. A recess is inserted in the band for forming a pocket. The band has a band edge (4) extending along the periphery. The side ring area (5) is arranged between the recess and the band edge. The near-edge area (15) covers a section of the recess. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a roller bearing cage.
