<p>The carrier (1) has a shifting gate (11) for displacing the carrier on a camshaft, and a pipe (17) with internal teeth (14). Multiple torque-proof and axially immoveable parts e.g. cam rings (18-21), link ring (22) and inner bearing sleeve (26), are mounted on the pipe in a torque-proof manner. Valve operating cams (5-8) and the shifting gate are formed at the parts. The bearing sleeve is surrounded by an undivided bearing ring (27) of a radial bearing (15). The radial bearing is provided for storage of the carrier and the camshaft in a cylinder head.</p>
