<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate and a method for manufacturing the glass substrate reliably preventing the occurrence of breakage due to deflection or an improper temperature distribution of the glass substrate and, at the same time, solving the problem of glass particle regardless of whether strengthening treatment is applied or not by properly specifying surface properties of boundary surfaces continuous to the front and rear surfaces and edge surfaces of the glass substrate and satisfying the specification. <P>SOLUTION: A chamfered surface 4 is formed on at least one side of boundary part present between the front surface 2a and rear surface 2b of the glass substrate 1, and the edge surfaces 3 present between the outer peripheral edges of both the surfaces 2a, 2b, wherein the maximum valley depth Rv on the chamfered surface 4 is 2.0 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
