<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mechanically determine a change in a printed document without depending on visual determination, and to automatically print and rearrange the updated pages in the order of pages. <P>SOLUTION: Each of the pages of a printed matter includes unique machine-readable identification ID, and information such as validity associated with the identification ID is held as master data. The identification ID of the printed matter is automatically read by the document management device, and the validity of the master data is determined. As a result, invalid pages are discharged, and updated pages are printed instead.
