PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform manual bookbinding by a short conveyer in a bookbinding system composed by connecting a perfect bookbinding machine and a cutting machine via the conveyer. SOLUTION: In the booklet conveying device for a bookbinding system, the predetermined number of booklets discharged from the perfect bookbinding machine 1 are accumulated on a lifting base 3, discharged to the conveyer, and conveyed to the cutting machine by driving of the conveyer. The conveyer is operated so as to displace the booklet on the conveyer by a dimension of the booklet in the conveying direction and a dimension between the booklets, every time the predetermined number of booklets are accumulated on the lifting base and discharged. By repeating the operation, the booklets on the conveyer are conveyed to the cutting machine 7. Repetition of this intermittent operation substantially and considerably reduce speed of conveying the booklets, and hot-melt paste coated on a back surface of the booklet can be naturally cured without extending the conveyer.
