ANTIBODY SPECIFIC TO ACTIVATED EGFR

Disclosed is a means for measuring activated EGFR accurately regardless of the occurrence of phosphorylation. Specifically disclosed is an antibody or an antigen-binding fragment thereof which can bind to both of activated EGFR having a phosphorylated form and activated EGFR having an unphosophorylated form. When an immunoassay is carried out using the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof, activated EGFR in a sample can be measured more accurately compared with conventional methods. Abnormal activation of EGFR is a cause for the onset of cancer, and is therefore a therapeutic target. Therefore, the antibody or the antigen-binding fragment thereof is also useful for the detection of cancer, particularly cancer to which a molecular targeted therapeutic agent that targets for EGFR is to be administered.
