PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an air conditioner for a vehicle obviating the need of attaching/detaching works and cleaning works of an air filter device, by collecting the dusts attached to a filter of the air filter device into a recovery box to dispose them. SOLUTION: The air conditioner for the vehicle includes: an air conditioner body 8 mounted on a roof 2 of the vehicle 1; the air filter device 9 arranged at a proximate position of a suction port 4 formed on the upper surface of a ceiling 3 of the vehicle, so as to filtrate air sucked from the inside of the vehicle through the suction port and to transfer the air to the air conditioner body; and a dust removing device 10 provided adjacent to the air filter device, so as to remove the dusts attached to a filter body 11 of the air filter device. The dust removing device includes: a suction nozzle 17 sucking the dusts attached to the filter body; a sucking device 18 with a suction fan providing a suction force to the suction nozzle; and the recovery box 20 for recovering, via a discharge hose 19, the dusts sucked from the suction nozzle by the sucking device.
