MERCURY REMOVING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate and remove zero-valent mercury gas from treating object gas at a sufficient removal rate while suppressing an amount of use of a mercury oxidizing agent.

SOLUTION: The apparatus converts zero-valent mercury gas into water-soluble bivalent mercury gas to separate and remove the zero-valent mercury gas from the treating object gas, and has a reaction separation means 4A bringing an aqueous solution containing the mercury oxidizing agent containing trivalent iron (Fe3+) as a component, and having pH of 3 or less into contact with the treating object gas.
