<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing buckling in a width press of a hot slab for performing stable edging by preventing the generation of the buckling and surface flaw of the hot slab in the edging of the hot slab with a width press device. <P>SOLUTION: When edging the hot slab intermittently, the increment of the plate thickness in the nose part and a stationary part of the hot slab by the edging is predicted by a formula (1) and the height position of buckling restraining rolls is adjusted in accordance with that predicted value. In the formula,ΔH represents the increment of the plate thickness of the hot slab (the middle part of the width) after edging, WO represents the width of the hot slab before edging,ΔW represents the amount of edging, and HO represents the plate thickness of the hot slab before edging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
