PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan noise reduction device and a fan noise reduction method that reduce noise generated by a fan with efficiency while saving space. SOLUTION: The fan noise reduction device is provided with: a noise characteristic adjusting plate 16G provided in a suction path of sucked air (a) generated by the fan 20 disposed in a housing 11 and/or an exhaustion path of exhaust air (b); an adjusting member 27 of adjusting ventilation resistance of the sucked air (a) and/or exhaust air (b) by moving the noise characteristic adjusting plates 16G; a noise measuring module 26 of measuring the generated noise; and a controller 28 of driving the adjusting member 27 in accordance with the noise measured by the noise measuring module 26 to move the noise characteristic adjusting plate 16G so as to reduce the noise.
