LOW VOLTAGE CONTROL SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS

A low voltage control system includes a programmable controller and a plurality of programmable DC lighting loads. The controller includes at least one DC power bus output, a common unidirectional address bus output, and a programmable controller processing unit connected to the address bus and in communication with a controller memory unit. The DC lighting loads each include at least one DC lighting element, a modulation circuit that modulates a voltage from the DC power bus, and a programmable load processing unit operable to control the modulation circuit using program instructions stored on a load memory unit. The controller processing unit uses program instructions stored on the controller memory unit to control the modulation circuits of the DC lighting loads. The load memory unit program instructions enable the load processing unit to control the at least one DC lighting element in response to the controller or independently of the controller.
