A rotating electrical machine has a stator in which a predetermined number of a plurality of stator divided bodies, each of which has a coil formed by winding an electric wire around a stator piece, is joined in a ring, the stator piece being formed by stacking magnetic steel sheets divided in the circumference direction on a per-pole-tooth basis. The electric wire has a first insulating coating. The coils of mutually adjacent stator divided bodies among the plurality of stator divided bodies are opposing at the respective outermost layer electric wire portions. A predetermined region of the electric wire forming at least one of the respective outermost layer electric wire portions is coated with a second insulating coating provided on the first insulating coating. The second insulating coating covers the surface on the opposing side.
