PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black defect correction method for correcting a black defect generated in a transparent conductive film without damaging a base and a peripheral region. SOLUTION: The method of correcting a black defect generated in a transparent conductive electrode or a transparent conductive wiring pattern comprising the transparent conductive film deposited on a surface of a transparent substrate or a color filter formed in the transparent substrate, includes applying a high voltage between a discharge electrode and the transparent conductive film disposed in the vicinity of the black defect, applying a spark discharge to the black defect, and then removing the black defect by cleaning.
