PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vortex blower facilitating outflow of air flows from the distal ends of blades. SOLUTION: The vortex blower includes an impeller which has a casing provided with a pressure chamber on a lateral side of an annular flow passage centered on an axis O and the blades 4 extending radially around the center of the axis O and rotates about the axis, and through rotation of the impeller 4, lets air flow out from the blades into the pressure chamber, sucks the air from a suction port communicating with the annular flow passage and discharges the air from a discharge port communicating with the annular flow passage. In the vortex blower, the leading edge 4SF of the blade 4 facing the pressure chamber recedes once from an extension plane Sm which connects the axis O and a leading edge base end A of the blade 4 toward a radially outward direction from the leading edge base end A, then advances ahead of the extension plane Sm at a leading edge center C of the blade 4, which is the center between the leading edge base end A of the blade 4 and a leading edge distal end B of the blade 4 extending in the radially outward direction from the leading edge base end A, and further advances gradually from the extension plane Sm in a region from the leading edge center C of the blade 4 to the leading edge distal end B of the blade 4.
