PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material and a building, which enable conventional building materials for interior and exterior finishing to be easily attached/detached without use of a conventional adhesive, nail, etc., because interior and exterior finishing materials attached to the building by means of a magnet cannot be applied to the conventionally used building materials for the interior and exterior finishing, though the interior and exterior finishing materials are provided from before. SOLUTION: The magnet 4 is provided in either the building materials 1 for the interior and exterior finishing or a building side for attaching the building material; and a substance 2 for being attracted to the magnet is provided in the other one of them.
