<p>A clean ether-based fuel comprises dimethyl ether, methanol and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-p-cresol. The ether-based fuel can replace gasoline in automobiles or other vehicles or power equipments having gasoline engines. A mixed fuel comprising the ether-based fuel and gasoline is also provided.</p>
