PURPOSE: A damping system for a structure is provided to reduce the size the system by transferring amplified displacement and speed from a structure to a damper. CONSTITUTION: A damping system for a structure comprises a first strut(60), a second strut(70), and a damping unit. One end of the first strut is rotatably coupled to a frame. One end of the second strut is rotatably coupled to the frame. One end of the damping unit is rotatably coupled to the frame, and the other end is rotatably coupled to the other ends of the first and second struts. The damping unit is extended in a vertical direction to tensile force or compressive force applied to the damping unit.
