PURPOSE: An apparatus for indicating occurrence of an event in a wireless communication system and a method thereof are provided to inform a base station of the generation of the event. CONSTITUTION: A method for transmitting a preamble which is performed in a wireless communication system comprises steps of: detecting the generation of an event(S610) and transmitting a preamble corresponding to the detected event to a network through an RACH(Random Access Channel)(S620). The state of the preamble transmitting terminal is an RRC_IDLE state.
