PURPOSE: A composite light guide plate and a backlight unit using the same are provided to reduce the thickness of the backlight unit by forming a groove at one side of the light guide plate. CONSTITUTION: A protrusion which has a wave shape or a wedge shape on a light guide plate(10). A light guide plate comprises a pattern part in which a concave part is formed between protrusion parts. A diffusion layer(20) is attached to the upper part of the light guide panel. A prism sheet(30) is attached to the upper side of the diffusion layer. A base film is a polycarbonate film or a polymethylmethacrylate film.
