PURPOSE: A hot tapping pipe is provided to ensure high reliability by preventing the leakage of fluid even when a branch opening/closing member is retracted in the opening direction. CONSTITUTION: A hot tapping pipe comprises a hot tapping pipe body and sealing members(73). The hot tapping pipe body surrounds a part of a main pipe(50) and has a branch portion(56) and an entrance(67) formed around the branch portion. A branch opening/closing member(80) passes through the entrance. The sealing members are installed in the branch portion in order to prevent water leakage. When the branch opening/closing member moves forward in the direction of closing the branch portion, the branch opening/closing member is inserted between the sealing members and located to face the entrance. When the branch opening/closing member moves backward in a direction of opening the branch portion, the sealing members come into contact with each other.
