The device (100) has a microchip-laser source (12) i.e. infrared light, discharging a laser radiation pulse (14). A telescopic arrangement (40) generates a part of an image of the laser radiation pulse on points of an intermediate image surface (24). A part of the telescopic arrangement is downstream to the image surface in an optical path, and indicates the image surface on points of a focal surface (34). The part of the telescopic arrangement includes an F-theta-objective (22) and includes a lens (26) that is relocated, so that distance of the focal surface is changed from the image surface.
