Bumper crosswise rigid bar is attached by means of fastening inserts with increasing or decreasing rigidity during impacts. Said fastening inserts are integrated into car side member and consist of magnetically active elastomer. Permanent magnet is mounted at some distance from said elastomer toward car body rear. Said magnetically active elastomer is arranged inside solenoid whereto current is fed during impact with magnitude varying. Elastic recoverable coat of bumper bar is also made from magnetically active elastomer and enclosed in thin and light envelopment made from strong fabric, for example, Kevlar. Magnetically active elastomer of recoverable coat features smaller rigidity compared with that of magnetically active elastomer of fastening inserts.
