<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can provide an image of high quality as an enlarged or reduced image of any magnification and with which power consumption and mounting area can also be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an original image memory which stores an original image, a magnification setting unit which computes lateral and longitudinal enlargement/reduction rates of the original image from the original image resolution and display image resolution and outputs the enlargement/reduction rates respectively, a virtual address generation unit which generates a virtual address, based upon the resolution of a display device and the enlargement/reduction rates of the original image obtained by the magnification setting unit, and a base address on which the virtual address is based, a real address conversion unit which converts the virtual address into a real address and outputs an interpolation coefficient for interpolating pixel data, and an image interpolation unit which reads pixel data of the original image out of the original image memory, based upon the real address and uses the interpolation coefficient from the real address conversion unit to generate and output the display image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
